Paintings inspired by Music
My name is GENNA, I live in Barcelona. As a mathematician-turned-artist, like I was called in one of the reviews of the Spanish art magazine REVISTART, I present my paintings inspired by music and made in the new Chatoyant style.
Here is some information and you can watch videos of paintings with this music and see photos of my other paintings afterwards.

Speaking about these paintings, as was also the case at the International Art Exhibition HARTEXPO 2023 in Barcelona (in the photo), I can say the following:
Each of them is an artistic representation of a vivid image that I saw in the sounds of the music that impressed me.
All these sounds appeared in my mind to be inspired in the colors of the rainbow and filled with its positivity. Complementing this with what I saw between the notes or behind the notes of their score, I presented such sounds as artistic elements.
From these elements and following my intuition, I created a melodic composition for the image that I saw, filled it with the harmony of sounds that impressed me, as well as the positive and relaxing effect of the rainbow and its colors that I felt through them.
The process of assembling such elements into a composition may be considered as the work of an haute couture tailor for a special character. Fabrics for the clothes can be beautiful, but I, like the tailor himself, have paid more attention to the character wearing clothes.
Such an approach elevates the original music. It gives fresh air, creates a new environment in which the composition speaks some of the truths of music that were, for one reason or another, harder to hear before.
I had to dig deep to uncover these truths. I was searching for my way through this immense building of music to the world of light and harmony with the light in rainbow colors and the harmony of music.
Or perhaps the main driver was my curiosity to get absorbed into the personal Universe of Music and to express it in my paintings so that one could see, hear and feel the World of Light and Harmony in them.
As the artist Vasily Kandinsky advised, such “a painting should first be carefully examined close up, and then relax the eyes and allow what you see to penetrate to that part of the brain that responds to music.»

As for my paintings themselves, they are made on primed canvas on a stretcher or on thick paper. Applied a mixed technique of combining acrylic paints and special pencils of rainbow colors. These paintings are made in different sizes – from A4 (30×21 cm) to 130×80 cm.
It turns out that their compositions consisting of such rainbow-colored elements produce an iridescent shine of the same kind that precious stones have. Such a phenomenon in these gems is called by the French word Chatoyant, and that is why I use it in the name of my style.
I would also like to note that in the language of the Naga tribes in India there is a word Genna, the essence of which is protection from the blows of fate and restoration of well-being. Having the intention that my paintings with the harmony of music and the positivity of the rainbow would also contribute to this, and the fact that this word is also part of my official name, then in this double sense I use it as my artistic name.
